The Region Q Workforce Development Board (WDB), along with two partner boards (Turning Point and Northeastern) is seeking applications for a Mobile Career Advisor to provide access to job seekers and employers by building traditional and electronic outreach methods, leveraging partner agencies, and erasing barriers that disparage the most needful individuals of the workforce. The position will focus on enhancing the abilities of the Career Centers in the five counties of Region Q (Beaufort, Bertie, Hertford, Martin and Pitt) to better serve those job seekers and employers, to make them more aware of the resources available to them through the Region Q WDB and the NCWorks Career Centers.
This contracted position requires an individual with strong computer skills to set-up and provide services via electronic methods; the ability to establish partnerships with other organizations; excellent oral and written communication skills and experience providing direct customer service. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
The positions requires experience in one or more of the following components: Human resources, counseling, advising, customer service, administrative support or basic programmatic assistance. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but can be substituted for experience.
Anticipated start date of the position is September 1, 2017. This contract is funded through August 31, 2018.
