During Wednesday’s Board Meeting Board members, staff, and guests took time to recognize and thank Michael Freeman for his years of outstanding service to the Board and the communities we serve. Mr. Freeman served 17 years on the Board representing the small business sector of Bertie County. Mr. Freeman has been active on several committees and his leadership and guidance has helped shape many of the policies we have today. One of the last committees he served on was the Youth/NextGen Committee. His committee helped restructure our work experience program to allow youth a more structured learning experience and that those experiences must lead our youth to full-time employment. We will certain miss “Mike”, but wish him well as he enjoys being retired!
