Ibarra and Ross return to work!

We were so excited on the day these two ladies returned to work – we forgot the pictures!!

Maria Ibarra has been working several part-time jobs to support her and her family. After a visit to the Beaufort County NCWorks Career Center, she was referred to ICONIC Marine Group in Chocowinity.  ICONIC saw the same potential we did!  Maria now has one full-time job (instead of several part-time jobs) and is a Laminator and learning lots about the boating industry. She began work on February 6 through our On-the-Job Training Program.  We are excited to see what the future holds for this bright young lady!

Catrena Ross was a former Detention Officer and was looking for a new career.  At the same time, we began to work with Ruth’s House to assist them in finding a new Client Services Coordinator. We saw a great fit in the making and referred her for the job.  As they say … the rest is history!  Catrena started work on February 6 and we are just as excited for the residents of Ruth’s House, as she will bring lots of resources and knowledge to the shelter.   Ms. Ross is also receiving training through our On-the-Job Training Program.

We appreciate all of our local businesses and industries that support our OJT Program – as we could not do it without them!  For more information on our OJT Program, please feel free to contact Lou Stout, Business Engagement Coordinator, at lstout@mideastcom.org or visit your local NCWorks Career Center.
