Sweat earns 2018 DuPont Davis Award

The Region Q Workforce Development Board recently awarded Holly Sweat of Greenville the 2018 DuPont Davis Award for Outstanding Workforce Development Professional. Holly was instrumental in creating a collaboration between Pitt Community College’s Division of Continuing Education and the Pitt County NCWorks Career Center to offer several job seeker workshops.  Holly’s workshops, “Overcoming Job Seeking Barriers and Blunders” and “Secrets to Landing a Job”, assisted over 2,000 Pitt County job seekers since 2014.  The workshops were offered through the Human Resources Development (HRD) Program at Pitt Community College, allowing job seekers to gain valuable information, without paying a registration fee to attend.  Holly has since retired from teaching and is writing a book to be titled, “From Darkness Into Light: The Secrets of Landing a Job“.

The DuPont Davis Award was created by The Board in September 2010 to recognize the outstanding efforts of an individual who has promoted and delivered workforce development activities within the local NCWorks Career Center system, other workforce development programs, and businesses.

We congratulate Holly on all her accomplishments, on her service to the job seekers of Pitt County, and wish her well as she starts the next chapter in her career!
