Our Leadership Team has made the difficult decision to temporarily close all the NCWorks Career Centers in our Region (Beaufort, Bertie, Hertford, Martin, and Pitt Counties) to the general public beginning Monday, March 23, 2020.  While the Centers are closed to the public, staff are still available to assist job seekers and employers.  Contact information for each Center is below:

Unemployment Information

Unfortunately, Career Center staff cannot assist you with filing for unemployment or checking the status of your claim.  Individuals who wish to file or have questions, should contact the Division of Employment Security, https://des.nc.gov/.  You may also call them at 1-888-737-0259 (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm).

What should I, a job seeker, do right now?

Call or email us for assistance.  We have many local employers looking to hire additional staff .  While the hospitality industry has been hit hard, local retailers need to hire additional staff.

How do I get an appointment?

Unfortunately, we are not scheduling appointments.  However, you are encourage you to call or email us and we will assist you by phone or virtually.

What if I need assistance navigating ncworks.gov?

Call or email us and we can walk you through any issues.  We can also schedule a virtual session, if that works better for you.

When will you reopen to the public?

We are taking precautions to ensure both your health and safety and the health and safety of the Career Center staff.  Our Leadership Team is evaluating local conditions weekly and will make schedule adjustments as necessary.
