The Rivers East Workforce Development Board is excited to announce its Made in Beaufort County (Made in BoCo) Project in collaboration with the Beaufort County NCWorks Career Center, Northeast North Carolina Career Pathways, Washington Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce, Beaufort County Schools, Beaufort County Community College, and Beaufort County Economic Development. November 8-12 is Employ a Veteran Week and veterans are encouraged to register for this event. Interested individuals should register at https://tinyurl.com/jobseeker1109. NC East Alliance and Rivers East Workforce Development Board have partnered to develop the Rivers East Academy for Advanced Manufacturing. The Rivers East Academy is a unique multicounty solution that will comprise of a 3-year high school teacher externship professional learning program. It will assemble a regional network of high schools, community colleges, East Carolina University, and regional industry in a 6-county area. Participating employers include Camfil Clean Air Solutions, Fuji Silysia, Iconic Marine Group, MJM Yachts, NC Departments of Public Safety and Transportation, Metcore Industrial Solutions, Nease Personnel, Nucor (Hertford Co.), Nutrien, Spinrite, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Weyerhaeuser.

The Rivers East Workforce Development Board will meet on Wednesday, September 8 at 3:00pm. The NextGen Youth Committee and the NCWorks Committee will meet prior on Wednesday, September 8 at 1:30pm. The Rivers East Workforce Development Board (WDB) is seeking two part-time Instructors/Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who teach industrial technologies or closely related courses at a community college and/or high school career technical education level, respectively to provide support and expertise to the development and implementation of the Rivers East Academy.
